Southern California In Another Heat Wave

With fall a little over two weeks away, California is in another brutal heat wave that should last until early next week. The National Weather Service has issued heat advisories up and down the state from Sacramento to Southern California. For this heat wave, though, it looks like Southern California is getting the hardest hit.

While Los Angeles struggles with high 90 F to low 100 F temperatures, 25 miles away in Woodland Hills the temperature hit 113 on Wednesay with temperatures climbing to possibly 117 on Friday. Woodland Hills, which has a record temperature of 121, has become the poster child for southern California heat. From New York to Los Angeles, it is often talked about when a heat wave occurs.

Starting next Tuesday, the hot summer of 2024 in California will finally be cooling down for good, with low 80's to 70's being seen for much of the state. Los Angeles will be steady in the 70-80's, and Fall finally starts to come in.

Accuweather meteorologists as a whole think that California will not have any type of drought conditions in 2025 due to the last few years of rain. A total of 6 of the major reservoirs are at or above capacity.
