Amazon Ends Work-From-Home Policy For Employees

In a move that was met with disappointment by employees, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy has ordered all full-time workers to return to the office 5 days a week. Workers will no longer have the option to work full-time or partially at home. He also said that it was a way to secure the culture that they wish to have in the workplace. Employees were allowed to work 3 days a week at home if they chose too.

Working from home became a staple in the workforce due to covid-19, especially in the technology field. Even with the rest of the country's work force being hurt by COVID-19, the technology sector still had to keep social media and anything that had to do with technology or business going. Working from home became the norm for some technology workers.

Unfortunately, it became difficult to make sure that employees were finishing all of their work or were not working up to capacity. Many employers said productivity became a problem, and with the high cost of office space, it made sense to them to get back to the way things were.

Last month, Resume Builder said that 87% of technology companies will be back to working in the office full time. Amazon feels that it's vital to make the changes to improve productivity and to build a team atmosphere. Jassy has also said that this will allow employees to be better connected as well.

These changes will occur starting January 1^st.
