The California power company PG&E has announced that there could possibly be some mandatory power outages to some areas due to the high winds and high temperatures that will be seen on Monday and Tuesday. They commented that the power outages are “likely” for the counties in Northern California.

The power outages are used as a precautionary measure to avoid the risks of fires that could be caused by PG&E's equipment. Some feel that this is the fault of the power company because of years of neglecting to spend money to upgrade their system.

PG&E has given a map of the counties that could possibly be affected.

    • Alameda
    • Butte
    • Colusa
    • Contra Costa
    • Glenn
    • Humboldt
    • Napa
    • San Luis Obispo
    • Santa Barbara
    • Shasta
    • Sonoma
    • Tehama
    • Trinity

Some customers in several counties throughout California have been told that their power is probably going to be shut off this afternoon, like those in Sonoma County.

Cities are encouraging residents to look online for cooling centers, which are going to be opened in some cities today. They will allow people to get a drink and cook off in air conditioning.

Raise rates for what? Not underground, not updating equipment. Bottom line they turn off power cause their equipment will start fires! We all know it, has been proven, and this is their solution. Shutting off all power! Greed and selfishness- karma knows your addresses.
