The Blue Angels got to fly on Sunday afterall. Another San Francisco Fleet Week ended the way it always should, with cloud cover cleared and the star attraction wowing the crowd.

On Sunday The Blue Angels capped off Fleet Week flying over the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and all through San Francisco, creating more memories for the people that attended. The Blue Angels flyovers were cancelled on Saturday due to the fog cover, and it wasn't clear if the Blue Angels would fly on Sunday. Mother Nature cooperated though, and the fog cleared, and it was all systems go.

One of the Most Popular Events in San Francisco:

Last year, the San Francisco Fleet Week (SFFW) was dedicated to the late former mayor of San Francisco, Dianne Feinstein, who started SFFW in 1981. She wanted to do something to celebrate all of the people in the military that served on the waterways, and she was always delighted at the success of the event.

There are ship tours, demonstrations, and educational tours. This weeklong event always has something for everyone. It has become so popular and big that the United States Department of Defense calls the SFFW the blue standard on how fleet weeks should be done.
