Boxing legend Evander Holyfield in Louisville for fundraising event at Ali Center
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A boxing legend Evander Holyfield is visiting Louisville to raise funding for a good cause. The four-time World Heavyweight champion is raising money for retired fighters in need. Holyfield will participate in a charity casino night at the Muhammad Ali Center to support the Retired Fighter Charitable Fund and the center.
Eighth of August events planned in Hopkinsville
Events are planned in Hopkinsville to celebrate the Eighth of August, which commemorates the emancipation of slaves during the Civil War. The Human Rights Commission and the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County will host their Emancipation Celebration from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at the Pennyroyal Area Museum, 217 E. Elizabethtown woman dies in motorcycle crash on WK Parkway
An Elizabethtown woman has died in a motorcycle accident on the Western Kentucky Parkway. The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash Friday evening at approximately 8:15 in the westbound lanes of the parkway near the 43-mile marker. According to WEVV.com, a witness told police the driver lost control of the motorcycle, but it was unclear why.
