Holston Gases, a Knoxville, Tenn.-based distributor of industrial gases and welding, safety, and industrial supplies, has announced it will name Joe Baxter as president. Robert Anders, who has been president since 1997, will continue as CEO, approving all major decisions on the direction of the company. Bill Baxter will continue as chairman of the board.

Claiborne Football Club middle school soccer team lost to Oneida, 3-0
August 12- Oneida travelled to Claiborne to play soccer against the Claiborne FC. In the past Claiborne has been outmatched by Oneida’s faster athletes but on this night, Claiborne had a great showing. Coach Alec Barnard had his team ready, and they played very well. Oneida did their damage in the first period of play as they scored three goals off the sneaky fast foot of Kiera Young. Young unofficially scored at 23:01, 16:02 and the 9:13 mark of the first half. Claiborne had several great opportunities to score goals, but the goal post was unkind. Coming out of the break, CFC had their chances to get back in it but each time, Oneida withstood the attempts. The match ended, 3-0, with Onieda taking home the victory.
