    Janesville man arrested in stalking case

    JANESVILLE — A Janesville man has been arrested after being accused of stalking a former significant other.

    Shawn Ross, 47, was arrested after a month-long investigation by the Janesville Police Department in a domestic stalking case.

    According to a release, the investigation stemmed from a previous domestic relationship with Ross. Officers collected evidence in person and through “electronic mechanisms” that Ross was allegedly engaging in stalking behaviors. Electronic detection K9 Maui was used during the investigation.

    A search warrant was used at Ross’ home on July 13. Detectives are still processing and examining evidence collected from the residence. Ross has been held at the Rock County Jail pending his initial court appearance. His initial appearance was adjourned to July 23 at 3 p.m. Cash bond has been set at $500,000.

    Ross has been charged with felony stalking with a domestic abuse modifier, felony misappropriating ID info — avoid penalty, and theft of mail (30 or more pieces of mail).
