    Janesville Police Department announces new hires

    JANESVILLE — The Janesville Police Department has announced the hiring of three police officers and one part time community service officer that started July 22. The three officers were sworn in during a ceremony on July 23.

    Officer Camden J. Elve is from Sun Prairie. He graduated from Madison Area Technical College with an associate degree in criminal justice in May 2024. He will be attending the Blackhawk Technical College Police Academy in August 2024. Officer Elve recently worked for University of Wisconsin Police Department Security.

    Officer Connor S. Hughes is from Rockford. He is attending Rock Valley College in Rockford, IL. He will be attending the Blackhawk Technical College Police Academy in August 2024. Officer Hughes recently worked for Fuego Food Truck and Beloit Bombers Youth Baseball.

    Officer Vincent R. Stone is from Argos, Indiana. He graduated from the University of Indianapolis with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in December 2021. He will be attending the Blackhawk Technical College Police Academy in August 2024. Officer Stone recently worked for U.S. Army Reserves.

    Community Service Officer D’Angelo E. Vernon is from Clinton. He was awarded the IDEAL Opportunity Scholarship to attend Blackhawk Technical College.
