JANESVILLE, Wis. -- Janesville Police arrested a 31-year-old Milwaukee man after they said he allegedly drove away from officers Friday morning.

Police said at approximately 12:16 a.m. an officer responded to the area of Milton Avenue and Black Ridge Road for a traffic complaint of a vehicle speeding and driving recklessly.

Officers located the vehicle and reportedly were almost struck by it. Police said the responding officer attempted to turn and around and stop the vehicle but the man reportedly drove away at a high rate of speed. Police said the vehicle crashed in the area of Benton Avenue and Harding Street.

The man reportedly ran from the scene and Rock County Sheriff's Office assisted with a K9 track and a drone. The man was found in the 300 block of E. Memorial Dr inside of a residence.

Police said the man allegedly displayed signed of being under the influence and refused field sobriety testing.

The man arrested for flee/eluding an officer, resisting/obstructing an officer, 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety, and OWI (1st offense). He was held at Rock County Jail.
