Football coach reacts to death of West Feliciana High School student
BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A 17-year-old from West Feliciana was killed in a car accident on Friday Morning. According to Louisiana State Police, the accident happened on Highway 78 just west of Highway 1 in Pointe Coupee. We’re told he ran off the road into a ditch, his car then flipped and hit a tree.

A Lafayette Parish sugar and cattle producer is this year’s Louisiana Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Outstanding Young Farm Woman. . Vermilion Parish resident Amanda Duhon, 33, received the award at the Louisiana Farm Bureau’s 102nd Annual Convention in New Orleans on June 27, 2024. Duhon is a first-generation sugarcane farmer and a fourth-generation cattle producer, but she said that wasn’t always the case.

Northwestern State’s utility player extraordinaire, who played and started in five different positions during the 2024 season, earned All-Louisiana honors on July 3. Mel Manuel and Jeremy JF Thompson struggled to meet other LGBTQ+ folks when they moved to Covington three years ago. Having previously lived in New Orleans, Manuel and Thompson, who both use they/them pronouns, felt out of place in a less urban and more conservative region. Manuel, 40, and Thompson, 43, decided to create their own LGBTQ+ safe space. Lafayette, Lake Charles men arrested in marijuana bust
LAFAYETTE, La. (KPLC) - The Lafayette Police Department made two arrests after recovering 113 pounds of marijuana. The undercover operation in the 200 block of Highland Oaks Lane in Lafayette resulted in the arrest of Gregory Chaisson, 63, of Lake Charles, and Blade Chaisson, 30, of Lafayette, Sgt.
