What would you do if you had a son in law that barely helped your daughter with their baby and then blamed it on his ADHD? Before we get into that, I wanted to share a couple of Coos Bay facts.

As a resident of Coos Bay I'd love to know what facts you know so leave a comment about that if you want!

Interesting Coos Bay Facts You May Not Know

The district called Eastside in Coos Bay used to be named East Marshfield since it was situated on the land that's east of the bay. There was even an East Marshfield post office that opened in 1891 that went in and out of service until its official name was changed to Eastside post office after 1908.

There is evidence of people living in the area where Coos Bay is located at least 10,000 years ago. However, there was a flood of Euro-Americans in 1850 that changed the area and started the ball rolling on where we are today. They ended up forcibly removing the Native people to the then new Coast Reservation in 1856 so they could have access to and live on the land.

Woman Tells Her Son In Law To Get On Medication If His ADHD Is So Bad

There are any people that go unmedicated it would seem, and online there was a post that went up in the last day or two illustrating this. A woman was visiting with her daughter and son in law and says he was a not being a proper husband or father.

OP says that this man won't take out the trash without being reminded 5 times and he never does most chores like the dishes. To top it off, he doesn't even change his baby's diapers and leaves pretty much every task to his wife instead.

If someone does tell him to pay attention because the baby is crying, he expects to be told why and what he needs to do to assist. He apparently cannot find anything in his own house and has to be told where everything is. Basically, OP says he's a drain on her daughter.

During a recent visit OP got fed up because for a week she watched as he sat there doing nothing while his baby needed to be changed and chores needed to be done. OP says even she pitched in because he wouldn't. If he was around and her daughter was saying something, he'd talk over her and not listen at all.

OP snapped at a certain point because he wasn't listening to his wife while she kept repeating something and asked what his problem was. He started to stammer and said he had ADHD and couldn't help but to have a hard time doing anything or listening in general.

Finally, OP told him to his face that if his ADHD is so bad then he needs to get on medications. This caused the son in law to turn red and it looked like he was going to cry, so she felt bad in that moment and decided to ask the internet if that was taking it too far.

Her daughter says she should apologize but that she agrees that he needs to be on some sort of medication for his ADHD. Many commenters on this post point out that ADHD doesn't explain all of his behavior and that he is just using it to excuse being lazy.

What do you think, is OP right for telling her son in law to his face to get on medications? Is it not her place to say something to him about his mental problem? Let my know what you think in the comment section!

there seems to be a lot of young people with ADHD nowadays. In the early 70's we were told to cut the sugar off and no cereals with red dies. HYPER ACTIVITY was the diagnosis for these problems. No drugs were prescribed. Pops on the but at school for not paying attention and at home there was work. cutting grass ..washing the car ..helping fix meals ..cleaning. Not playing games or TV. There is no disciplining kids nowadays. My son started working at 13 yrs cutting yards all summer in Texas. He's a fireman / paramedic soon to retire.

Sure. She has a right to suggest meds, and her opinion. What he does with that, is up to him. Freedom of speech. Geeze people around here get butt hurt so easy. I bet there are meds for that! lol!
