When a customer comes in around closing at a restaurant and wants perfect service, they may not always get what they want. Today we'll go over that but first we'll go over a couple of Oregon restaurant tips that can help you find awesome places to eat!

Oregon Restaurants: Finding Awesome Places To Eat

If you want to see what the state of Oregon has to offer when you visit or when you move there, you need to think about which city you'll be in. Fortunately, there are websites that you can use like TripAdvisor which lets you see the top options in any city. Start on the page for Oregon tourism and you can generally get a good feel for what's available.

Are you curious if a restaurant is a healthy place to eat in general? You can look at inspection reports for Oregon restaurants by going to the "My Health Department" portal that the Oregon Health Authority has online. Go there to do a search before you head to a restaurant so you can avoid anywhere that has serious problems with keeping their restaurants clean.

Is It Fair To Expect A Restaurant To Stay Open When You Are There After Closing?

A lot of the time, servers go above and beyond because they want tips. However, everyone has their limit. In some circles, people say that you should have to serve a customer properly no matter how bad they treat you. Others think that the customer isn't always right.

Bad customer service is not illegal to give to someone in places like Oregon, but you cannot do anything illegal like tamper with their food. You can also expect to get in trouble if you make a customer upset since most companies will always go out of their way to treat people well even at the expense of their workers.

You can actually check with the State of Oregon's business website to see tools that protect consumers. You can even do a lookup on a site they link to that will let you know more about a business before you ever pay them for anything.

Being a server is hard work and without tips it can be really difficult to make ends meet since pay can be very low. So many people would just nicely deal with a customer that came in right before closing.

You do have to know where to draw the line since if you let people do things like keep your restauratn open late, more and more people will take advantage of the situation. A bad review is usually pretty simple to deal with if a higher up responds with what really happened but many higher ups will not go to bat for every one of their employees.

What do you think about this? Everyone seems to have different opinions so I'm curious what my readers think!

I've been in this situation myself on both ends.I've had people push it to the limit as to when they showed up didn't care we needed to close up but drug out their wing ding as such.something like that should be pre-arranged but this was no reservation, just people who pushed the envelope a bit too far as we need to clean up and get home. We were afraid to press it as we didn't want to escalate anything. All we could is call the police quietly and wait for them to show up.until then we kept them entertained.
