Fire damages residence in northwest Mountain Home
A fire damaged a residence in the northwest portion of Mountain Home Saturday morning. No injuries were reported from the blaze at 48 Hazelnut Circle. According to the Mountain Home Fire Department, the alarm came in at 5:13. Personnel responded to the residence owned by Jason Wilkinson and were on the scene for nearly three hours.

Cross County School District receives grant to revitalize on-campus greenhouse
CHERRY VALLEY — The Cross County School District has received a grant to revitalize its on-campus greenhouse. “It’s approximately a $92,000 grant that we have to pay about $8,000 on. For about $8,000, we’re going to receive $84,000 from the state,” said Cross County Superintendent Dr. Nathan Morris. “We’ve got a very nice greenhouse on our campus, but all of the guts are getting old. We’re going to be able to replace all the guts. … The water system, the irrigation system, the electronics, the way the fans will open, regulating the temperature, the lighting, we’ll be able to change all of that out.”
