Band director charged with sexual battery
A local school band director is facing serious charges after being accused of having sexual relations with an underage girl. Joe Michael Sanchez, the 42-year-old director of the Maroon Pride Band at Stringer Attendance Center, was charged with three counts of sexual battery and is in custody in the Jasper County Jail. He made his initial appearance on Sunday before Jasper County Justice Court Judge.
