Kirbyville Wildcat 4-H Members Compete at Texas 4-H Roundup
Several members of the Kirbyville Wildcat 4-H recently competed at the Texas 4-H Roundup state competition, showcasing their skills and talents in various categories. Two teams from the Jasper County Club represented Kirbyville Wildcat 4-H. The first team consisted of Dylan Lynch, John Fultz, and David Fultz, marking their second time competing at the state level. Dylan and John had previously competed together in 2021. Making their Texas 4-H Roundup debut were Daniel Jones and Brock Federoff, who competed against 24 other teams from around Texas, with results still pending.

Jury selection is scheduled to begin today in the trial of Jadarian Lee, a man accused of shooting and killing Chase Butler in March of 2023. Jasper County Sheriff Mitchel Newman said shortly after the incident occurred that some sort of argument broke out between Butler and Lee, and escalated to the point that Lee shot Butler in the head at a home on County Road 420, just outside Kirbyville on Saturday March 23rd, 2023.
