Convention selects new register of deeds
Jacqie Reisinger has been elected during a Geary County Republican Central Committee Convention to fill the unexpired term of Register of Deeds, Diane Briestensky Leonard, who is retiring Aug. 30. The recommendation now goes to Gov. Kelly for final approval. Reisinger has been serving as Deputy Register of Deeds.
Prison for road-rage beating death of 74-year-old Kansas man
BUTLER COUNTY —A Kansas man man is going to prison for a road-rage beating death of of a man in 2023. On July 10, Ashton McCoy, 24, was sentenced to 21-years in prison, according to Butler County Attorney's office. In May McCoy pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and aggravated assault.
