The 21st Annual Tree School is back on September

METAIRIE, LA - Friends of Jefferson the Beautiful presents the 21st Annual Tree School. The event is scheduled to be on Thursday, September 23, 2021, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and takes place at Jefferson Performing Art Center, 6400 Airline Drive.

Friends of Jefferson the Beautiful is a nonprofit organization that raises donations to plant trees and landscapes on both public properties and highways in the Jefferson Parish. They plant trees and landscapes to beautify the parish area.

Besides the Annual Tree School, Friends of Jefferson the Beautiful collaborates with various experts in the horticulture field to provide many educational opportunities. For example, they provide an open forum on Planters Lunch with speakers on topics of civic and horticultural interest. Another event is a tree dedication ceremony, which is held to honor people who planted trees.

The event is acknowledged by the National Arbor Day Foundation and Forestry, International Society of Arboriculture Louisiana, Department of Agriculture and Forestry Louisiana, State Board of Residential Contractors Louisiana, and State Board of Architectural Examiners.

On this one-day seminar, most of the spears are arborists with experience in research and managing practice. All participants will join a discussion about all aspects of urban arboriculture comprehensively. Care and preservation of the tree canopy in the urban landscape are on the topic as well. The seminar is open to the public, licensed arborists, landscape architects, master gardeners, professional engineers, and residential contractors.
