LAFAYETTE, La. (KADN) — The man convicted in May of killing two people back in 2016 has been formally sentenced by a judge to life in prison. Joshua Willis was found guilty on May 2 of one count of first-degree murder of Ashley Metz and one count of second-degree murder of Brooklynn Hill.
Port Barre mayor wanted to limit number of police officers; city council had other ideas
The Port Barre city council on Tuesday voted down a proposal that would have capped the number of officers allowed in the police department.
