    JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Jefferson City announced in a Tuesday social media post that it is offering $7.3 million in grants for affordable multi-family rental projects.

The funding comes from the Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Relief Program. It aims to boost housing recovery efforts following the destruction from the 2019 tornado.

The city is accepting proposals to create affordable multi-family rental projects with Low-Income Housing Tax Credits.

Proposals must be submitted through the Bonfire portal no later than 11:59 p.m. Aug. 18, according to the city’s website.
