Rescue teams save boaters as boat takes on water
Rescuers responded to an incident at Chatfield State Park on Saturday, according to an X post by South Metro Fire Rescue. South Metro Fire Rescue, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and Jefferson County responded to the incident. The boat was taking on water. All parties were rescued by a ranger from CPW Northeast Region and a civilian boat. No one was in the water and there were no injuries. Everyone on board was wearing a life vest. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office posted a message on X that deputies and Elk Creek Fire responded to a structure fire that left the occupants injured.Deputies and fire crews responded to the scene at 12200 Styve Road in Conifer. The fire had extended to the grasses and trees around the home while some explosions were heard that were related to propane. Two people were transported to the hospital while it is unknown what ignited the house fire.
