After nearly four decades, North Metro Fire deputy chief of operations hangs it up
After nearly four decades, former Deputy Chief of Operations Jeff Bybee has retired from service at the North Metro Fire District. The district, which serves Northglenn and Broomfield, and some areas of Jefferson, Weld and Adams counties, said a fond farewell to Bybee last week after 39 years of service.

Circus delights at Jefferson County Fairgrounds

Bike stolen outside Walmart returned to 12-year-old boy
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office posted a message on X, announcing that a 12-year-old boy's bike that was stolen by a suspect outside of a Walmart has been returned.Jeffco deputies said the bike was returned to the 12-year-old, named Alex, in perfect condition and thanked the public's help. Investigators said on June 19 around 1:15 p.m., the boy rode his bike to the Walmart located at 13420 Coalmine Ave, to buy fishing tackle when he locked up his bike outside and went inside the store. The suspect went into the store where he stole bolt cutters and used them to steal the bike. Although the bike was returned, deputies are still searching for the suspect. He was described as a white male who was wearing a blue T-shirt with the words COLUMBIA and a logo on the back, blue/black shorts, white tennis shoes with black short socks and a black and white baseball hat with a logo. Anyone with additional information are encouraged by law enforcement to call the tip line at 303-271-5612. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
Restricted Access on Clear Creek Lifted
Jefferson County, CO. – Effective at noon today, July 1, 2024, Jefferson County Sheriff Reggie Marinelli, in conjunction with the City of Golden, will lift restrictions that previously limited waterway activities on Clear Creek. The boundaries affected by the restriction order issued on June 5, 2024, extended from Jeffco’s western border at State Highway 119 eastward along the canyon through the city limits of Golden to Vanover Park.
Colorado deputies return stolen bike to 12-year-old boy
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Days after a 12-year-old boy had his bike stolen, his story has a happy ending!. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office issued a plea to the community on June 21 to help find the bike. The boy had locked it outside a Walmart in Littleton -- only for a man to follow him into the store to shoplift bolt cutters and use them to take the bike.
