Restricted Access on Clear Creek Lifted
Jefferson County, CO. – Effective at noon today, July 1, 2024, Jefferson County Sheriff Reggie Marinelli, in conjunction with the City of Golden, will lift restrictions that previously limited waterway activities on Clear Creek. The boundaries affected by the restriction order issued on June 5, 2024, extended from Jeffco’s western border at State Highway 119 eastward along the canyon through the city limits of Golden to Vanover Park.
Order limiting water activities along Clear Creek lifted
GOLDEN, Colorado — Restrictions put in place last month to limit water activities along Clear Creek in Golden and Jefferson County were lifted on Monday. The temporary restrictions, enacted June 5, prohibited the use of rafts, belly boasts, inner tubes and swimming from the western boundary of unincorporated Jefferson County through the eastern limits of the City of Golden, including Vanover Park.
Colorado deputies return stolen bike to 12-year-old boy
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Days after a 12-year-old boy had his bike stolen, his story has a happy ending!. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office issued a plea to the community on June 21 to help find the bike. The boy had locked it outside a Walmart in Littleton -- only for a man to follow him into the store to shoplift bolt cutters and use them to take the bike.

8 people, 2 dogs rescued at Chatfield Reservoir after strong winds reported
South Metro Fire Rescue posted a message on X, saying that a total of eight people and two dogs were rescued at Chatfield Reservoir after strong winds were reported in the area.Around 7:56 p.m., South Metro Fire Rescue said that CPW NE and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office were responding to a water rescue at Chatfield State Park that involved two people and two dogs on paddle boards but were unable to get to shore when winds picked up on the water. Jefferson County has agreed to pay a former inmate $500,000 for a 2022 use of force incident that appeared to show jail deputies dropping the handcuffed prisoner on his face. Deputies said Frederick Fisk, who was 54 at the time, was having a mental health episode on the night of Nov. 20, 2022 and needed to be escorted to a different unit. HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. — The man at the center of an hours-long standoff in Highlands Ranch on Thursday was wanted on domestic violence charges in Jefferson County. Around 7:30 a.m. Thursday, a CodeRed alert was issued for the area of West Timbervale Trail in Highlands Ranch, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
