3-year-old killed in crash on Interstate 55 in Jefferson County near Festus
JEFFERSON COUNTY — A 3-year-old boy was killed early Sunday when the car he was in drove off the road and struck a tree in Jefferson County. The child was in a Kia Forte with two adults and a 1-year-old at about 4:40 a.m., Missouri Highway Patrol said. They were driving north on I-55 about six miles south of Festus.

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A Fredericktown man is recovering from serious injuries sustained in an accident in Jefferson County Thursday night. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 49-year-old Charles E. Lee was driving a Jeep eastbound on Route M at Old Lemay Ferry Road at 11:29 p.m., when he traveled into a right turn only lane, traveled off the roadway onto a raised concrete island. Lee then traveled off the right side of the road and down an embankment. The Jeep struck several small trees and Lee was ejected out of the driver's door.

JEFFERSON, MO, (June 29, 2024) - The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) says two people were seriously injured Saturday night in a motorcycle accident in Jefferson County.
