JEFFERSON COUNTY, OH — The Steubenville area lost a World War II hero this past week. Robert Moran served in the United States Army Artillery from 1943 to 1945, receiving many awards. He was 99 years old and passed away peacefully, having served on D-Day. He returned to Normandy in 2022 for the 78th anniversary, but, unfortunately, he was not in strong enough health to return in the years following.
