Police: Local Man Behind Bars for Striking Woman in Head During Argument
SUMMERVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — Police say a local man was arrested for the alleged assault of a woman during an argument in Summerville Borough. According to court documents, Punxsutawney-based State filed criminal charges against 61-year-old Charles Edward Lingenfelter, of Fairmount City, in District Judge Gregory Bazylak’s office on Thursday, June 27.

WASHINGTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Brookville man is in jail for reportedly assaulting his wife during an altercation in Washington Township. According to court records, DuBois-based State Police filed criminal charges against 56-year-old Kevin Phillips, of Scranton, in District Judge David Inzana’s office on Monday, June 24.

NORTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) -- More than 50 people were charged with DUIs at checkpoints in Washington, Butler and Jefferson counties over the weekend. Police were trying to crack down on people mixing alcohol and drugs with driving.According to one of the departments that was part of that DUI checkpoint, North Strabane Township, they say they are seeing a rise in DUIs around the region.According to state police, they interacted with more than 350 drivers. Expect strong thunderstorms in Pa. Wilds early Wednesday evening
The National Weather Service issued a report at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday for strong thunderstorms until 5 p.m. for Forest, Clarion and Jefferson counties. "At 4:15 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a cluster of strong thunderstorms between St. Petersburg and Rimersburg, moving northeast at 40 mph," states the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects."
