Jefferson County Fair announces 'Heart of the Park' community events

JEFFERSON — New in 2024, the Jefferson County Fair will be holding daily events in the Heart of the Park, presented by ERGO Bank. This idea came from Kevin Doherty of Watertown, a member of the Fair Advisory Board.

Each day will have a different attraction, centrally located by the Activity Center, and the Fair is asking for community participation.

Sign-up forms will be available at jcfairpark.com for people interested in bringing their vehicles or products in on the appropriate day. Fairgoers will vote at each daily contest, and the winner will receive prizes.

Wednesday 7/10: Farm Truck DayBring your drivable, licensed, working farm pickup truck to compete for four awards: Rusty Crusty, Old Reliable, Hot Mess, and the Mighty Machine.

Thursday 7/11: Hero’s DayThis special event will feature veterans groups, local law enforcement, firefighters and armed services representatives, all coming together to showcase their dedication and service to our community. Wear your patriotic colors and interact with these local heroes, experiencing some of the tools and equipment they use in their everyday duties.

Friday 7/12: Craft & Market DayFor people looking to display and sell crafts, flowers, and market items in a lively and welcoming environment. Ready-to-eat food and beverage sales not permitted. Secure your spot now!

Saturday 7/13: Tractor DayShowcase your tractor(s) and share your passion with fellow enthusiasts and fairgoers. The top five “Best of Show” tractors will be awarded trophies. Cap off the day with a tractor parade at 4 p.m.

Sunday 7/14: Classic Car ShowBring your beloved classic car(s) and show off your pride and joy. Fairgoers will decide their favorites and the top five “Best of Show” cars will be awarded trophies.
