Pa. company laying off 70 people
The Radian Group, a mortgage insurance company, is laying off approximately 70 people in Chester County. Radian Group Inc. filed a WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act) notice with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry informing that state it is laying off the employees at 550 East Swedesford Road in Tredyffrin Township near Wayne.
Settlement Reached in Split Rock Resort Timeshare Lawsuit
Attorney General Michelle Henry announced a legal settlement with Split Rock Resort’s owners, Split Rock Investments, LLC, and SCH USA, LLC, for alleged consumer mistreatment related to timeshare sales. The lawsuit, filed by the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, accused the resort of violating state Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Laws by denying timeshare owners property access and imposing excessive fees.
Penn College sees unexpected increase in state budget
Williamsport, Pa. — On July 11, Gov. Josh Shapiro approved the 2024-25 Pennsylvania budget, which includes a $4 million increase in state appropriations for Penn College — a 13% increase compared to last year.
