The Purdue Turf and Landscape Field Day was held on July 16 at the W. H. Daniel Turfgrass Research and Diagnostic Center. Over 400 turf and landscape professionals attended to learn more about the latest research. Lafayette man charged with murder in Briarwood Apartments slaying
LAFAYETTE, Ind. ― Kwame Riddle became the first person in 2024 charged with murder in Tippecanoe County. Riddle fatally stabbed Terry Taylor early July 11 in the 1600 block of Briarwood Court, leaving him bleeding to death in the middle of the road, according to prosecutors who filed charges Wednesday. The request for a new special judge in the Delphi murders case has been denied by the Indiana Supreme Court. WL man faces drug, gun charges after police called to local park
A 29-year-old local man faces three criminal charges after police responded to a call of an occupied vehicle in Happy Hollow Park after it was closed for the night. In the early morning hours Wednesday, police made contact with four people in the vehicle. As a result of the investigation, Dakota Lee Fields, of 506 Trace 5, West Lafayette, was charged with one felony, unlawful carrying of a handgun, and two misdemeanors, possession of paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, according to documents filed by the Tippecanoe County Prosecutor’s Office on July 17.
