Jefferson Parish announces recycling drop-off location, hours of operation changes
METAIRIE, La. — Jefferson Parish Government announced changes to the East Bank recycling drop-off site that will see a new location starting on Saturday, July 6. According to a media release received on Monday, the drop-off site will move from the parking lot of the Joseph S. Yenni Building to Republic Service’s Materials Recovery Facility located at 804 L&A Road in Metairie.

Louisiana residents urged not to abandon pets after nearly 60 rabbits rescued from area parks
NEW ORLEANS — The Humane Society of Louisiana is urging people not to adopt animals they cannot take care of following the rescue of more than 60 rabbits from area parks. According to Jeff Dorson, the HSLA director, rabbits are being abandoned at a rapid rate across Jefferson Parish and the city of Kenner.
