The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a flash flood warning Thursday afternoon for portions of Orleans and Jefferson parishes. The flash flood warning is in effect until 1:45 p.m. for west central Orleans Parish and northwestern Jefferson Parish, NWS forecasters say. Specific locations that will experience flash flooding include New Orleans, Lakefront and Louis Armstrong International airports, Metairie, Bridge City, Harahan, Elmwood, Jefferson, River Ridge and Waggaman.
