Gas Line Accident Shuts Down Roads in Lake Norden for 30 Minutes
{KXLG – Lake Norden, SD} A gas line strike caused a brief evacuation and road closure on Wednesday, July 17th, 2024, near Lake Norden. Shortly before noon, a construction crew working near SD Highway 28 and Burlington Street intersection accidentally hit a natural gas line. Responding to the incident, the Hamlin County Sheriff's Office, Hamlin County Emergency Management, and the Lake Norden Fire Department quickly evacuated nearby businesses.

A large law enforcement presence went to Paullina Thursday Morning. Shortly before 10 am, O’Brien County officials received a call from an individual claiming to have shot another person and said they would commit further acts of violence against other individuals and law enforcement.
