Camp Cadet in focus
For more than 30 years, boys and girls from 12 to 15 have been attending State Police Troop R Camp Cadet for one week each summer, experiencing hands-on activities and learning teamwork and discipline. This year camp is being held at Marywood University, where participants engage in daily activities which include a 2-mile run and physical fitness routines. Campers are also treated to presentations from agencies from various fields, including law enforcement and emergency services personnel. On Thursday, campers visited a shooting range. The week long adventure will conclude on Friday.

The Scranton School Board delayed introducing the district's preliminary budget for next year as members and administrators discussed spending an increase in state funding.
