Alden Crane
Alden “Bo” J. Crane of Honesdale, Pa., passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at his residence. He was 64. Born in Franklin to the late Raymond J. and Henrietta “Aunt Pix” (Vandermark) Crane, Bo had lived in Sussex and Newton before moving to Masthope, Pa., and more recently to Honesdale.

Arts at Hayfield 38th Annual Summer Arts Festival
On August 18, more than 120 artisans, performers, crafters and food vendors will converge on the campus of Penn State Wilkes-Barre in Lehman to celebrate the 38th Annual Arts at Hayfield Summer Arts Festival. The event is on the campus grounds from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., rain or shine.
‘The Kammander’ takes the lead in USA Mullet Championships
SWOYERSVILLE — Heading into the second round of the USA Mullet Championships, “The Kammander” is in charge — he’s at the top of the leaderboard in his age category. Kamden Cunningham — known as “The Kammander” — is back this year to raise money for wounded veterans and hopefully become the next USA mullet champion in the ages 5-7 category.

Exeter/Wyoming/West Wyoming: WA grads ready for bright futures
Some exciting news is coming out about the graduate plans of the Wyoming Area High School Class of 2024! It’s been reported to me that 83% of the Wyoming Area High School seniors will continue their education at post-secondary institutions of higher learning. This includes 59% of students in the graduating class who are enrolled in four-year schools of higher learning, 19% of students enrolled in community colleges and junior colleges. In addition, 7% have enrolled in technical and cosmetology schools or the armed services.

After writing last week about some August fun I’ve had in the past —allowing the summer to stay exciting and with us as long as possible — Jenkins Twp. has proven me right by announcing the date of the very popular Family Fun Fest.
