Nesquehoning rallies to raise funds for Go Joe 27 tour
It was a day of coming together for a good cause. On Wednesday, hundreds of residents from around the area gathered outside Narrow Valley Sportsplex in Nesquehoning to welcome WNEP meteorologist Joe Snedeker on his next leg of Go Joe 27, a bicycle fundraiser he completes to raise money for the St. Joseph’s Center in Scranton. The center serves people who are diagnosed with intellectual disability and those who seek pregnancy support, adoption assistance, outpatient therapy or medical day care services.

Child suffers minor injuries in fall at Glen
WAVERLY — A five-year-old Waverly boy was fortunate to suffer only minor injuries Thursday after a fall near the waterfall at Waverly Glen Park. According to Waverly Police, at 10:44 a.m. officers responded to a report of a child who had fallen 30 feet from the area of the waterfall at the park.
