JEFFERSON -- Thomas Schlesner's walk-off single in the ninth inning capped a back-and-forth affair as the Jefferson Blue Devils squeaked past the Albion Tigers 4-3 in Home Talent League baseball at Fischer Field on Thursday.

The Blue Devils (8-2) came to the dish in the ninth trailing 3-2.

Zack Peterson led off the frame with a single to right, leadoff man Luis Serrano was hit by a pitch before Aidan Kammer bunted for a hit to load the bases.

Roby Schlesner's sacrifice fly plated Peterson, knotting it up at 2-2.

After Ike Roth was intentionally walked, Thomas Schlesner dug in, tallying his fourth hit of the game with a line shot single to center field that brought Serrano and Kammer home to end it.

Brandon Laesch recorded Jefferson's third of three straight two-out singles in the first inning, driving home Roby Schlesner to open the scoring.

With one away in the sixth for Albion (3-5), Steven Olson hit a two-run shot off Heath Renz that gave the Tigers a 2-1 lead.

In the Blue Devils' seventh, Kasey Morgan drew a leadoff walk, took second on Peterson's sacrifice bunt, reached third via wild pitch before scoring on another wild pitch by losing pitcher Brian Rusch.

Renz doubled to open the Jefferson eighth and took third when Thomas Schlesner followed with a single. Rusch got out of the jam unblemished, however, thanks to a pair of fly outs and a ground ball.

In the visitors half of the ninth, Charlie Hatlen drove home Sam Little with a single up the middle for the go-ahead run at the time.

Renz started for the Blue Devils, allowing two earned runs on five hits with 11 strikeouts and one walk in eight innings. Ike Roth allowed a run on two hits in the ninth inning in the win.

Jefferson faces Cambridge at Jones Park in Fort Atkinson on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
