Philadelphia officer injured after car crash in Hunting Park, police say
A Philadelphia police officer is expected to be OK after his patrol car was involved in a collision in North Philly Saturday evening.Police said an officer from the 25th District was operating his assigned patrol vehicle when the car was involved in a crash near North 7th and West Luzerne streets in the Hunting Park neighborhood a little after 5:30 p.m.The officer was taken to Temple University Hospital and is expected to be released after receiving medical treatment, police said.According to a release from police, the crash happened while the officer was responding to a priority call and the officer's car sustained damage on the front passenger side after being hit by a car.

Hero officer pulls man from burning car after crash in Delaware County
An officer is being hailed as a hero for pulling a man from a burning car early Friday morning.It happened around 5 a.m. at the intersection of S State Road and Collins Drive in Springfield Township, Delaware County.Police say the driver lost control and hit a pole before the vehicle went up in flames."I commend this officer. My son was unconscious. He could have died," said the victim's mother, Katherine Templeton.Katherine's son, Peter, was rushed to Crozer-Chester Medical Center, where he's listed in critical condition."He had a fractured femur, fractured ribs. He also has some internal bleeding, which is minor at this time, but they're keeping an eye on him," Katherine said.Further details on the crash have not been released.The officer suffered minor injuries during the rescue.Katherine says her son is alert and talking but will have to undergo several surgeries.
Grand jury indicts trio charged in fatal AC boardwalk shooting
ATLANTIC CITY — Three Philadelphia men were indicted by a grand jury on murder and weapons charges in the death of a woman shot in the head along the boardwalk in August. Police were called to the boardwalk in front of the Flagship Resort on the northern end of the boardwalk in the pre-dawn house of Aug. 1 where two women were found on a jetty shot in the head, according to Atlantic County Prosecutor William Reynolds.
