They're the Fair-est of the Anderson County Fair
The Anderson County Fairest of the Fair and Tiny Miss pageants were held July 15-16 at the Anderson County Fair in Clinton. The Fairest of the Fair is Autumn Brooke Hill, 20, a pre-vet student at the University of Tennessee. She is the daughter of James and Kim Hill of Clinton. She will represent the county at the Tennessee Association of Fairs Fairest of the Fairs Pageant in Murfreesboro in January, according to a news release.
Knox County Police Arrest Five in Van Taken Without Owner’s Permission
Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith says deputies were called out to investigate reports of a van being taken from a residence without the owner’s permission. Deputies spotted the van traveling on US 25E in Barbourville and pulled it over. During the stop a K-9 unit alerted to the presence of drugs leading to the discovery of suspected methamphetamine, a syringe, several baggies and a loaded handgun. The five people in the van were all arrested. The driver, 46-year-old William Gray, 39-year-old Amy Eversole and 43-year-old Jennifer Jones were charged with drug trafficking and other drug offenses. Two other passengers, 33-year-old Shannon Burnett and 39-year-old Destiny McLane were charged on outstanding warrants. All five were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

Hancock County deputies searching for several inmates who escaped from jail on Wednesday
HANCOCK COUNTY, Tenn. — The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office is searching for several jail inmates who escaped Wednesday night. According to the sheriff’s office, five inmates were able to escape from the jail around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. Those inmates were identified as Casey Denim, Todd Carroll, Jason Holden Collins, John Benton III and Adam Bailey.
