ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - CBS7 FIRST ALERT Forecast for Friday, July 26th, 2024: We continue our monotonous period weather wise across West Texas and southeast New Mexico today. Highs will warm into the 90s across the region. Midland/Odessa are looking to reach a high temperature of 94 degrees. Skies through the day will be sunny aside from a few clouds and winds will be relatively light, aside from in the higher elevations where gusts up to 20 miles per hour will be possible later on in the day. Slight rain chances are possible for areas west of the Pecos River and into southeast New Mexico, but the majority will see dry conditions through the day.

Flood Watch in Effect for Central and Southwest New Mexico. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Flood Watch that remains in effect from Friday afternoon through Friday evening. Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible across the Manzano and Sandia Mountains. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may also occur in areas with poor drainage and urban settings.
