Easy Backyard Grilled Steak: Delicious Dinner Recipe Idea

My family used to only grill or barbeque on special occasions like on holidays. But in my house, we find any excuse to fire up the grill.

This grilled steak recipe is a favorite.

Full of flavor and so easy to make. You'll love it!

    Ingredients

    For the Steak:
    • 2 ribeye, sirloin, or New York strip steaks (about 1 inch thick)
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary or thyme, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
    • Salt and pepper to taste

    Optional Marinade:
    • 1/4 cup soy sauce
    • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
    • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
    • 1 teaspoon black pepper

    Directions

    Prepare the Marinade (Optional):
    • If you want to marinate the steaks, combine all the marinade ingredients in a bowl. Add the steaks, cover, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or up to overnight). If not marinating, proceed to the next step.

    Season the Steaks:
    • If not marinating, rub the steaks with olive oil, minced garlic, rosemary or thyme, salt, and pepper. Let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

    Preheat the Grill:
    • Preheat your grill to high heat (about 450-500°F or 230-260°C). Make sure the grill grates are clean and lightly oiled.

    Grill the Steaks:
    • Place the steaks on the grill and close the lid. Grill for about 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, turning once. Adjust cooking time based on your desired doneness (about 5-6 minutes for medium).

    Check Doneness:
    • Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature:
      • Medium-rare: 135°F (57°C)
      • Medium: 145°F (63°C)
      • Medium-well: 150°F (66°C)

    Rest the Steaks:
    • Once done, remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for about 5-10 minutes. This helps the juices redistribute.

    Serve:
    • Slice against the grain and serve with your favorite sides, such as grilled vegetables or a fresh salad.

    What do you think?

Would you make this grilled steak recipe for your family?
