    Nothing beats a creamy, rich and delicious alfredo pasta, right? This recipe I enjoy alone, meatless. But, you can easily throw in some chicken or shrimp.

    Here's how you make it...

    Ingredients

    • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
    • 1 cup heavy cream
    • 2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • Salt and black pepper to taste
    • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)
    • Cooked pasta (fettuccine is traditional)

    Directions

    Melt the Butter:
    • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.

    Add Garlic:
    • Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant but not browned.

    Pour in Cream:
    • Add the heavy cream to the skillet. Stir and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Add Cheese:
    • Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Continue stirring until the sauce thickens slightly.

    Season:
    • Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning as needed.

    Combine with Pasta:
    • Toss the cooked pasta directly in the skillet with the Alfredo sauce until well coated. If the sauce is too thick, you can add a little pasta cooking water to loosen it.

    Serve:
    • Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve immediately.
