Enjoy this with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of icecream.

    Ingredients

    For the crust:
    • 1 pre-made 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

    For the filling:
    • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 3 large eggs
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    For serving (optional):
    • Whipped cream
    • Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for garnish

    Directions

    • Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Prepare the crust: If using a store-bought pie crust, follow the package instructions to pre-bake it for a few minutes. If making a homemade crust, prepare it and place it in a 9-inch pie pan.
    • Melt chocolate and butter: In a medium saucepan, combine the chocolate chips and butter. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly until melted and smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
    • Mix the filling: In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, flour, and salt. Add the melted chocolate mixture, followed by the eggs and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined and smooth.
    • Pour into crust: Pour the chocolate filling into the prepared pie crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.
    • Bake: Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly fudgy. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out with a few moist crumbs.
    • Cool: Allow the pie to cool at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before slicing. It can also be chilled in the refrigerator for a firmer texture.
    • Serve: Serve slices of fudge pie topped with whipped cream and optionally sprinkle with chocolate shavings or cocoa powder.
