Decadent Chocolate Cherry Brownies: A Chocolate Lovers Dream

The kicker with these chocolate cherry brownies is that for an ultimate treat, I recommend you roast the cherries, as shared in this recipe.

    These look divine.

    A must try, for sure.

    Ingredients

    For the brownies:
    • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
    • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
    • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1 cup fresh or frozen cherries, pitted and chopped (if using frozen, do not thaw)

    For garnish (optional):
    • Powdered sugar
    • Additional chocolate chips or cherries for topping

    Directions

    • Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
    • Melt butter and chocolate: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and chocolate chips together over low heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
    • Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined. Add the melted chocolate mixture and stir until smooth.
    • Combine dry ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
    • Fold in cherries: Gently fold in the chopped cherries until evenly distributed in the batter.
    • Pour into the pan: Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
    • Bake: Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (but not wet batter).
    • Cool and serve: Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, cut into squares.
    • Garnish (optional): Dust with powdered sugar or top with additional chocolate chips or cherries before serving.

    What do you think?

Enjoy this with a cold glass of milk.
