Fresh, Easy Acai Bowl at Home: Fruity Breakfast Bowl Recipe

When I first learned about acai bowls, I really didn't get the hype. I thought they were a trending food.

But, years later, they are still here.

I finally tried one for the first time and I totally understood.

This is a fresh, fruity bowl with the consistency of soft serve icecream or soft set smoothie. It's dressed with a bunch of toppings that can add texture, flavor and really complement the acai bowl well.

    It's pretty delicious.

    Here's how you make it...

    Ingredients

    For the Base:

    • 1 packet (100g) frozen acai puree (unsweetened)
    • 1 banana (fresh or frozen)
    • 1/2 cup almond milk (or your preferred milk)
    • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)

    For Toppings:

    • Granola
    • Sliced banana
    • Fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
    • Chia seeds or flax seeds
    • Shredded coconut
    • Nut butter (e.g., almond or peanut butter)
    • Additional toppings of your choice (e.g., nuts, seeds, or cacao nibs)

    Directions

    • Blend the Base: In a blender, combine the frozen acai puree, banana, almond milk, and honey or maple syrup (if using). Blend until smooth and creamy. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides or add a bit more milk to reach your desired consistency.
    • Prepare the Bowl: Pour the acai mixture into a bowl.
    • Add Toppings: Arrange your desired toppings on top of the acai base. Start with a layer of granola, then add sliced banana, fresh berries, and a sprinkle of chia seeds or flax seeds. Drizzle with nut butter and add shredded coconut or any additional toppings you like.
    • Serve: Enjoy your acai bowl immediately with a spoon!

    What do you think?

What are your favorite toppings you use for your acai bowl?
