This chocolate brownie cake will fit the bill. Enjoy with whipped cream or icecream for the ultimate dessert.

    Ingredients

    For the Brownie Cake:

    • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
    • 2 cups granulated sugar
    • 4 large eggs
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)

    For the Frosting (optional):

    • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
    • 2 cups powdered sugar
    • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    • 2-3 tablespoons milk
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    Directions

    • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, allowing some overhang for easy removal.
    • Melt the Butter: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
    • Add Eggs and Vanilla: Let the butter mixture cool slightly, then whisk in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
    • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
    • Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. If using, fold in the chocolate chips.
    • Bake the Cake: Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
    • Cool the Cake: Allow the brownie cake to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes. Then, use the parchment overhang to lift it out and transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
    • Make the Frosting (optional): In a medium bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder, mixing until smooth. Add milk, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency. Stir in the vanilla extract.
    • Frost the Cake: Once the brownie cake is completely cool, spread the frosting evenly over the top.
    • Serve: Cut into squares or slices and enjoy your delicious chocolate brownie cake!

For chocolate lovers, I think you will absolutely adore this chocolate dessert.
