    Oven-Roasted Lemon Tilapia: Rustic Fall Dinner Recipe

    Tilapia is one of my favorite recipes to make. It's so easy and super quick to bake. I enjoy this recipe with rice and veggies. Super simple but very tasty.

    Ingredients

    • 4 tilapia fillets (about 6 oz each)
    • 2 lemons (1 sliced into rounds, 1 for juice)
    • 3 tablespoons olive oil
    • 3 cloves garlic, minced
    • Salt and pepper, to taste
    • 1 teaspoon dried oregano (or fresh if available)
    • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
    • 3 Tbsp capers (optional)

    Directions

    Step 1: Preheat the Oven

    1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

    Step 2: Prepare the Baking Dish

    1. Line a Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
    2. Arrange Lemon Slices: Place the lemon slices in a single layer on the baking sheet, creating a bed for the tilapia.

    Step 3: Prepare the Tilapia

    1. Season the Fish: Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and oregano on both sides.
    2. Add Garlic and Lemon Juice: Sprinkle the minced garlic over the fillets and squeeze the juice of the remaining lemon over the top. Sprinkle capers atop (optional).

    Step 4: Roast the Tilapia

    1. Place on Lemon Slices: Arrange the seasoned tilapia fillets on top of the lemon slices on the baking sheet.
    2. Bake: Roast in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and is cooked through.

    Step 5: Serve

    1. Garnish: Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley.
    2. Enjoy: Serve immediately, drizzling with any pan juices and additional lemon wedges on the side if desired.
