    Decadent Cream Cheese Swirl Brownies: Rich, Dreamy Brownie Recipe

    Cream cheese brownies have a richness and sweetness you canont pass up. This recipe is a favorite and it's one you should definitely try over the holidays.

    Ingredients

    For the brownies:

    ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter

    1 cup granulated sugar

    2 large eggs

    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

    1 cup all-purpose flour

    ¼ teaspoon salt

    ¼ teaspoon baking powder

    For the cream cheese swirl:

    8 oz cream cheese, softened

    ¼ cup granulated sugar

    1 large egg

    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    Directions

    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat, then remove it from the heat and stir in the sugar. 

    Allow the mixture to cool slightly before stirring in the eggs and vanilla until well combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.

    Next, prepare the cream cheese mixture by beating the softened cream cheese with the sugar until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined. 

    Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Spoon dollops of the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter, and use a knife or toothpick to swirl it into the batter slightly. 

    Then, pour the remaining brownie batter on top, spreading it gently to cover the cream cheese layer, and swirl again with a knife for a marbled effect.

    Bake the brownies in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. 

    Once baked, allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes, then use the parchment overhang to lift them out onto a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, slice into squares and enjoy your delicious cream cheese swirl brownies!
