Try this when you get a chance.

    Ingredients

    For the cookies:

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

    1 cup granulated sugar

    1/2 cup packed brown sugar

    1 large egg

    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

    1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

    1 teaspoon baking soda

    1/2 teaspoon baking powder

    1/4 teaspoon salt

    For the coating:

1/4 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional, for extra flavor)

    Directions

Here’s a delicious recipe for chocolate sugar cookies that are soft, chewy, and perfect for any occasion.

To start, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, cream together 1 cup of softened unsalted butter, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and 1/2 cup of packed brown sugar until light and fluffy, which should take about 2-3 minutes.

Next, mix in 1 large egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until well combined. In another bowl, whisk together 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

For the coating, mix 1/4 cup of granulated sugar with 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon in a small bowl (the cinnamon is optional but adds extra flavor). Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and then roll each ball in the sugar mixture to coat.

Place the coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the tops look slightly cracked. Once baked, allow them to cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Enjoy your chocolate sugar cookies as a delightful treat any time!

For an added touch, consider mixing in chocolate chips or chunks before rolling the dough, and be sure to store any leftovers in an airtight container to keep them soft and fresh. Happy baking!
