Despite postponement, plenty of exciting events ahead at Jennerstown Speedway

Jennerstown Speedway postponed racing action on Saturday due to excepted storms in the evening. It put a halt to what has been an exciting stretch of racing, including spectacular finishes.

Despite the setback, Jennerstown Speedway is delivering compelling competition up and down its six divisions of racing and there is plenty more to come.

"Canceling Saturday saves the teams, officials and fans a lot of time and money, as the forecast for Saturday night looked too risky with a tornado warning and threats of rain and thunderstorms," said Jennerstown Speedway General Manager Jared Adams. "I think we have had a lot of really competitive racing this season. Just last week, we had a side-by-side finish and a 3-wide finish. We have had a variety of different winner over the course of the season."

On July 6, Jennerstown will host its NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series 6-division racing program along with the Crown Vic Northeast Series. There will also be a post-race firework show.

Just five days later on July 11, Jennerstown will run the UARA Motor Mountain Masters, featuring Super Late Model drivers from across the country. The Pro Stocks will also race that evening.

Adams and company have been releasing some early entrants into the race on social media, none bigger than NASCAR Cup Series driver Erik Jones.

"It means a lot that a NASCAR Cup Series driver like Erik Jones is racing at Jennerstown," Adams said. "That was our plan in having a Thursday night race before Pocono weekend. Not only is he racing, but he wants to race here and that means a lot. Pit steward Mike Belardi played a big role in getting so many drivers. He deserves a lot of credit. for this race."

Bill Awtey Tribute Night will follow on July 13. The Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks, Chargers, 4-cylinders and Crown Vic Northeast Series will be in action.

The CRS Super Trucks headline action on July 20, with the Late Models, Pro Stocks, Modifieds, Steet Stocks and 4-cylinders also competing this evening.

Hall of Fame Night presented by Tri-Star on July 27 wraps up a busy month of racing. It will be a traditional NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series slate.

Adams believes the racing will intensify as the local drivers challenge for the season-long title in each division.

"I think that the local drivers are going to get hungrier, but the racing has been competitive, so points are tight," Adams said. "It's going to be a really exciting second half of the season."
