JENNERSTOWN — It appeared Barry Awtey was going to honor his late father with a victory on Bill Awtey Tribute Night, Saturday at Jennerstown Speedway.

However, Awtey's engine blew with seven laps remaining, knocking him out of the 30-lap Martella's Pharmacies Late Model feature.

Will Hemminger took the lead ahead of Bryan Shipp following the caution.

A red flag caution came out with four to go when Todd Price and Scott Melton got together, sending Melton into the wall.

Hemminger got the better of Shipp on the restart and earned his third win of the season. Shipp and Zac Todaro finished second and third, respectively.

Travis Schartiger claimed his first career win at Jennerstown Speedway in the Somerset Trust Fast & Furious 4s feature to open the night.

He held a lead of more than two seconds with three laps to go. However, Bradley Marsh blew a right front tire to bring out the caution.

Schartiger quickly pulled in front of Johnathan Haburcsak on the restart. But then, William Flick crashed hard into the inside retaining wall in Turn 2.

Schartiger was able to hold off Haburcsak and Donald Hillegass for the victory following a green-white-checkered restart.

Doug Glessner bested the field in the Stoystown Auto Wreckers Modified feature.

Five laps into the 20-lap race, Mike Carlson and Adam Henry touched, leading to a Carlson spin just past the stripe.

Glessner surged past Tom Golik for the lead on the restart.

With 13 laps left, John Fama came up the track and got into Golik which led to Fama hitting the wall hard in Turn 1.

After an extended red flag caution, Glessner checked out ahead of the pack and topped Henry and Golik for his third win of the season.

Erik Mauzy raced out to an early lead in the Integrity Coatings Chargers 20-lap feature to tally his second win of the season.

Carley Awtey closed in on Mauzy in the latter stages of the race but settled for second ahead of Nick Niemiec.

Adam Kostelnik won his first Ron's Collision Center Street Stocks feature of the season.

Kostelnik, who has also competed in the One Stop Auto Sales Pro Stock Division this year, dashed past Brent Bickerstaff and held off the points leader for the victory.

    Richard Meehleib Jr. finished third.

Jason Boncoski became the third different winner at Jennerstown in the Crown Vice Northeast Series. He staved off Ben Eastman on two different restarts following cautions, including one with a lap to go, creating a green-white-checkered finish.

    Jake Gracan finished third.

    Jones captures Motor Mountain Masters

After making an adjustment at the competition caution of the 7th annual Motor Mountain Masters on Thursday at Jennerstown Speedway , NASCAR Cup Series driver Erik Jones proved to be too much for the 14-car field. Jones bested his competition by more than two seconds to capture the Crimson Jacket and $10,000.

"It's always good to win, right? No matter what you're driving, where you're at and what you're doing," said Jones. "I love to have at least one win a year, so it's fun to have one on my resume here at a first-time track."

Jones started on the outside of Albert Francis to begin the 150-lap feature. Jones quickly gained the lead, but 2016 NASCAR Truck Series champ, Johnny Sauter took the top spot 23 laps into the race.

Just 31 laps into the feature, local driver Brandan Marhefka brought out a caution. With 88 laps to go, Bubba Pollard passed Jones for second as Sauter continued to lead into the competition caution with 75 laps remaining.

Sauter was penalized and forced to move to the back of the field after pulling into his pit stall as crew members began to work on his car before the siren sounded, allotting seven minutes for adjustments during the caution period.

Jones and Pollard restarted on the front row. Jones once again raced to the lead.

    He never trailed again.

Jeremy Doss, a California driver who was fast all night, passed Pollard for second with 42 to go.

Another caution flew with 35 laps remaining. Jones, who was excellent on restarts, rocketed past Doss for the lead.

Francis got into Michael Atwell with 27 laps left. Once again, Jones got the better of Doss on the restart. It was clear sailing for Jones from there on out. Doss, Pollard, Francis and 2-time defending champion Evan Shotko rounded out the Top 5.

Meanwhile, Dan Campbell collected his fifth win of the season in the 30-lap One Stop Auto Sales Pro Stocks feature to begin the night.

Campbell and Aaron Van Fleet, who entered the night with a 2-point lead in the standings, dueled throughout the race.

Campbell took the lead five laps in. He and Van Fleet distanced themselves from Josh Dunmyer and Jeff Giles, who finished third and fourth, respectively.

Michael Mohle spun eight laps in. Van Fleet gained the lead at the stripe following the restart. Campbell surged to the lead a lap later and held off Van Fleet for the win. He also regained the top spot in the points standings.
