Woman steals patient's glasses, hides them in orifices
Danville, Pa. — A patient at the Danville State Hospital took a person’s glasses and hid pieces inside her body, police say. Surveillance video showed Elizabeth Sampson, 25, enter the victim’s room prior to the glasses being taken, according to a complaint. Sampson had to be medically evaluated after allegedly putting pieces of the glasses into her vagina and rectum, and swallowing others. Investigators viewed video of the incident given to them by staff, police wrote in their affidavit. Sampson allegedly admitted to the theft during an interview at the hospital. The glasses cost $250. Sampson is being charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct, and harassment. She is scheduled to appear before Judge William Wilt on Oct. 15 for a preliminary hearing. Docket sheet
